Steve Pernick earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Resource Management in 1992 from the Pennsylvania State University. He is qualified as a USFWS Qualified Indiana Bat Surveyor, a US Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore District Certified Wetland Delineator, and, through PADI, he has obtained his Open Water Diver SCUBA Certification.
Steve’s specialties include threatened and endangered species investigations, habitat assessments, wetlands and aquatic resources, PA DEP Chapter 105/404 permitting, and impact mitigation for development projects. In addition, Steve also previously co-developed and instructed an Advanced Wetland Delineation Level II course for certification under the Federal Wetland Delineator Certification Program. Steve is working to complete his qualifications as an Airport Biologist, and has worked on projects in this area.
He is an active member in several local and state professional organizations and regularly volunteers’ his time and survey hours to assist with various species-related studies, including Pennsylvania’s Herpetological Atlas Project and the Northeast Bat Working Group. He is also an NRA Certified Instructor.
