Barry Butler has a Bachelor of Science degree from Houghton College in General Science, with an emphasis in Biology and Earth Science and a minor in Secondary Education. After teaching biology and earth science at the junior high school level, Barry joined Corning Inc. as a research scientist at Corning’s Research and Development laboratory in Corning, NY. He developed expertise in the fields of UV-VIS-IR spectroscopy and electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy of glass and glass- ceramic materials and new products, eventually becoming Corning’s key researcher in the field of EPR Spectroscopy. Barry retired after a 39.5-year career.
After joining Wildlife-Specialists, LLC, Barry completed certification in the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers Wetland Delineation Training Program, including the Northcentral and Northeast Regional Supplement and has since delineated many wetlands northern Pennsylvania. He serves as a team leader for our wetland survey team. As a member of our team, Barry also assists with habitat surveys for timber rattlesnakes and Allegheny woodrats, as well as surveys for rare, endangered, and invasive plant species.
